Budhi Brassco
B. 1976
Budhi Brassco is a metal craft artist from Cirebon, West Java, who has been active since the early 2000s. In 2007, he founded Brassco Gallery in his hometown, specializing in handmade brass relief paintings that blend the theme of “Love” (Kasih) with natural and cultural symbols such as tigers, dragons, and motifs inspired by Borobudur, batik, and calligraphy. His creations also include plaques, souvenirs, ornamental reliefs, mosque domes, and monument icons. Among his most notable works are handmade brass portrait reliefs commissioned for the President of Indonesia, ministers, and ambassadors.
Budhi’s works have been featured in national exhibitions including Inacraft, Indokraft, and the Trade Expo Indonesia. He received the 2023 Best Metal-Based Craft Award from the West Java Dekranasda and, in 2025, presented the exhibition Kasih at Hotel Neo+ Kebayoran, Jakarta. Beyond his artistic achievements, he is committed to training local youth, especially school dropouts, in brass relief painting, with the aim of preserving the tradition, nurturing creative talent, and reducing unemployment.
