Teguh Ostenrik
B. 1950
Teguh Ostenrik is an internationally acclaimed Indonesian painter and sculptor. He studied Fine Arts at the Hochschule der Künste, West Berlin, after an early fascination with anatomy and art led him to pursue his career in Germany. Over the years, he has held more than 100 solo and group exhibitions across the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
His works are represented in collections such as the Willem de Kooning Studio (USA), St. Mary of the Angels Church (Singapore), and the Fukuoka Art Museum (Japan). Recognized with awards including Best Artist (Tempo Magazine, 2009) and the Philip Morris Top Ten Art Award (1997), Ostenrik is known for environmentally conscious works that often employ recycled materials and reflect a synthesis of Indonesian and European influences.
