I Nyoman Meja is a traditional Ubud-style painter who became widely recognized after meeting Rudolf Bonnet, who inspired him to focus on depicting the world of children. His works capture everyday childhood scenes with warmth and detail, blending Balinese tradition with a personal sensitivity that brought him acclaim. Since the 1980s he has exhibited actively in Indonesia and abroad, and is regarded as one of the most successful painters of his generation in Ubud.
