Redy Rahadian
B. 1973
Redy Rahadian is an accomplished Indonesian sculptor whose practice explores the expressive potential of metal. His preferred materials include steel, aluminium, and copper, through which he creates works that combine technical precision with artistic depth. Since beginning his career in 1997, Redy has played an active role in the growth of Indonesia’s contemporary art scene.
He received several notable recognitions, including The Metro TV Eagle Award Sculpture Trophy (2003) and The Public Sculpture Project Award for Sun Plaza, Medan (2003). His works have been featured in numerous exhibitions, among them solo shows such as Heavy Metal Stories (Nadi Gallery, Jakarta, 2008), Interaction (Edwin’s Gallery, Bali, 2007), and Intensitas (Lontar Gallery, Jakarta, 2005).
