Rinaldi Syam is a contemporary Indonesian painter and sculptor known for his refined technique and harmonious compositions. A graduate of SMSR Padang (1996) and the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta (2004), he has been active since the late 1990s and is currently based in Yogyakarta.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Rinaldi transforms simple natural subjects into visually captivating forms that reflect his belief in the pursuit of beauty in art. His works have been exhibited widely in Indonesia and abroad, including in China, and he has participated in major events such as the Jakarta Art Award (2010), Biennale Indonesia Art Award (2010), Beppu Asia Biennale, Japan (2005), and Philip Morris Indonesia Art Award (2000).
