Khoo Cheang Jin

Khoo Cheang Jin was born in Penang in 1963 and has had a deep interest in art since a young age. He began painting actively after graduating from the School of Architecture at the University of New South Wales, Australia. Khoo is an avid traveler and often draws inspiration from the streetscapes, historic buildings, and everyday people he encounters,.Those things become central subjects in his watercolours and sketches.

He has held numerous solo exhibitions in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions both locally and internationally. He also has received multiple art awards in Malaysia and Singapore, and his watercolour works are held in many private and institutional collections.

Khoo is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society, and a member of the Singapore Watercolour Society, Malaysian Watercolour Society, and Penang Art Society. He is also the co-founder of Urban Sketchers Penang, currently serves as President of the Penang Water Colour Society, and teaches part-time at The One Academy Penang.
