I Made Wianta is one of Indonesia's most influential living artists, renowned for his dynamic and versatile approach to painting. A graduate of the prestigious ASTI art academy in Yogyakarta, Wianta flourished during the vibrant artistic period of the early 1970s.
Wianta is celebrated for his unique depictions of Balinese spirits and creatures, rendered in novel, peculiar, and deeply personalized forms. His work reflects a transformation from a versatile painter into a vigorous, multidimensional creator. He has exhibited extensively, both within Indonesia and internationally, and received the notable Art Academia Intern "Greci Marino" award from Italy.
