Li Jinming was born in Hong Kong in 1942 and later settled in Guangzhou in 1946. He graduated from the Affiliated High School of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1961 and completed his studies at the Oil Painting Department of the same academy in 1966. He is a member of the Chinese Artists Association and has served as a council member of the Guangdong Artists Association, as well as holding senior roles within the Guangdong Oil Painting Society.
With over four decades of artistic practice, Li Jinming is known for his bright, optimistic paintings characterized by vibrant colours and bold, simplified brushstrokes that remain precise and expressive. His style reflects a thoughtful fusion of Chinese sensibilities and Western oil painting traditions, developed consistently since the 1970s. He has held more than 20 solo exhibitions and participated in major exhibitions across China and internationally. His achievements include multiple national awards and honors at provincial exhibitions, and his works are now held in numerous museums, galleries, and private collections worldwide.
