Josephine Linggar is an accomplished Indonesian artist who is widely recognized for her deep exploration of women as her primary subject. Her art delves into the complexities of womanhood, capturing the unique blend of beauty, sincerity, passion, and both strength and weakness.
Linggar made her professional debut with a solo exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1994. Since then, she has held many solo and group exhibitions, both in Indonesia and abroad. Her work is featured in prestigious venues in Jakarta, including major hotels, and is part of collections at the Indonesian Presidential Palace. She has received numerous awards, including being a finalist for the Philip Morris Art Awards (2001) and the Indofood Art Awards (2002).
