Ay Tjoe Christine

Ay Tjoe Christine was born in Bandung in 1973 and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. She has exhibited extensively across Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, China, the United Kingdom, and France, earning international recognition for her distinctive artistic style. Her works are highly valued in the global art market, and she has received several prestigious international awards.

Ay Tjoe’s expressionist paintings, works on paper, and sculptures explore themes of the human condition, desires, and the deep connection between humanity and nature. Her emotionally charged compositions reflect introspection and spirituality, making her one of Indonesia’s leading contemporary artists.

She has held numerous solo exhibitions worldwide, including: Spinning in the Desert, White Cube Hong Kong (2021), Spirituality and Allegory, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (2018), The Path Less Found, Michael Ku Gallery, Taipei (2012), Lama Sabakhtani Club, Lawangwangi, Bandung (2010).
