I Wayan Supartha
I Wayan Supartha was born in Peliatan, Ubud, Bali, in 1971. He is a pupil of I Wayan Djudjul, a renowned painter from Tebayasa, whose influence played an important role in shaping his early artistic direction. Shortly after graduating from elementary school, Supartha made a firm decision to pursue painting as his chosen path.
Supartha has been actively working as an artist since the 1980s and is best known for his paintings depicting scenes of bare-chested Balinese women in traditional market settings, inspired by everyday life in Bali during the 1960s. Through this recurring subject, his works evoke a sense of nostalgia while capturing the cultural atmosphere and social rhythms of the time.
