Astari Rasjid
Astari Rasjid is an Indonesian artist and academic who also served as Indonesia’s Ambassador to Bulgaria, Albania, and North Macedonia from 2016 to 2020. She studied English Literature at Universitas Indonesia before continuing her education in fashion and fine arts in the United Kingdom and the United States, including at the University of Minnesota and the Royal College of Art.
Throughout her career, Astari has held numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally, including in Indonesia, China, Bulgaria, and Italy, with participation in the Venice Biennale in 2013. Beyond visual art, she has been involved in dance and performance productions as a producer and art director. Her contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Madara Horseman 1st Degree State Order from the President of Bulgaria in 2020 and the Philip Morris Art Award in 2005.
