I Made Arya Palguna graduated from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali. His work is rooted in close observation of the social world around him, drawing on human, animal, and botanical symbols to construct narratives that blend humor, parody, and critical commentary. For Palguna, the universe itself is an endless source of ideas.
He has participated in residencies at the Muong's Cultural Museum in Vietnam, the Korea National Museum of Art in Seoul (2012), the Shanghai International Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition (2017), and the Ludvig International Symposium in Hungary (2018 and 2019). His solo exhibitions include presentations at LVS Gallery in Seoul (2012), Sangkring Art Project in Yogyakarta (2015), Komaneka Gallery in Ubud (2018 and 2019), and Sika Gallery in Ubud (2021).
