Richard Winkler is an artist known for his unique style, which blends his background in graphic design with the vibrant culture of Bali. From a young age, he was passionate about painting and learned from his grandfather. After studying at art schools in Stockholm, he became an illustrator and graphic designer, establishing his own studio in 1992. His artistic style took a decisive turn following trips to Sri Lanka, which inspired him to relocate to a warmer climate.
In 1997, Winkler moved to Ubud, Bali, dedicating himself to painting full-time. He immersed himself in the island's rich culture and lush landscapes, which became the cornerstone of his work. His distinctive style is characterized by soft curves, exaggerated human forms, and flawless brushwork. His works convey a sense of balance and precision, reflecting the fusion of his Swedish design sensibility with the tropical imagery and cultural richness of his new home.
