Abdi Setiawan is an Indonesian contemporary artist born in Sicincin, West Sumatra. He graduated from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta. He works across both painting and sculpture, developing a practice centred on the expressive potential of the human figure. His works often explore human emotion, identity, and social interaction through stylised forms that balance strength with sensitivity. As a member of Komunitas Seni Sakato, one of Yogyakarta's prominent artist collectives, Abdi has contributed to the city's vibrant contemporary art scene while continuing to expand his artistic practice across multiple disciplines.

His works have been presented in solo and group exhibitions throughout Indonesia, including the solo exhibition Gairah Malam at Lembaga Indonesia Perancis, Yogyakarta (2004), and group exhibitions such as Art for Aceh, Spirit of Play, Omong Kosong #1, Open View, and Urban/Culture. Through both painting and sculpture, Abdi continues to investigate the expressive possibilities of the human form, creating compositins that are both dynamic and deeply personal.
