Ibrahim is a prominent Indonesian abstract artist whose journey began at SMSR West Sumatra before earning his fine arts degree in painting from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta in 2006. That same year, he returned to West Sumatra to teach at ISI Padang Panjang while continuing to develop his practice. Rooted in abstract expressionism and influenced by artists like Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock, Ibrahim works intuitively, guided by emotion and spontaneity. His untitled canvases, rich with dynamic strokes and fluid forms, invite personal interpretation and foster an intimate dialogue between artwork and viewer, offering a renewed sense of connection in an increasingly detached world.
