Agus Sumiantara, better known as Kacrut, is a contemporary Balinese artist recognised for his distinctive fusion of hyperrealism, realism, and Pop Art. A graduate of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Denpasar, he draws inspiration from everyday objects and personal experience. His creative process is highly methodical. Simple objects are dismantled, rearranged, and photographed before being translated onto canvas.

Beneath the technical precision of his paintings lies a deeply personal narrative. Many of his works reflect experiences shaped by hardship, resilience, and recovery, using symbolism to explore themes of memory, identity, and transformation. Since emerging on the contemporary art scene, Kacrut has exhibited extensively in Indonesia and abroad. His achievements include recognition as a finalist in the Sovereign Asian Art Prize, affirming his place among Indonesia's leading contemporary artists.
