B. 1965
Faizal was born in Solo, Central Java, in 1965. After graduating from high school in Solo, he continued his studies at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI), Yogyakarta. He has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Amsterdam, France, and Singapore. Faizal has received several prestigious awards, including Best Sketch and Best Painting in Yogyakarta (1990), Best Painting from ISI Yogyakarta, and the Medaille du Conseil Général Prix d’Honneur L. Duren from France.
