Kok Poo

1937 – 2018

Kok Poo was born in Ambarawa, Central Java, in 1937. A realist painter, he studied under the guidance of the renowned artist Dullah at Sanggar Pejeng, Bali, from 1972 to 1982. His style, deeply influenced by his mentor, focuses on the faithful depiction of figures—often children and the elderly—as well as still lifes of flowers and portraits of animals, particularly domestic pets.

Over the decades, Kok Poo’s works have been widely collected by art enthusiasts in Indonesia and abroad. His paintings are admired for their sensitivity, precision, and the warmth with which he captures everyday subjects.
