Hassan Pratama
B. 1964
Hassan Pratama, born in Bandung, West Java, in 1964, is a visual artist known for his focus on tribal art. His expressionist paintings draw inspiration from the cultural and natural landscapes around him, exploring themes of figures, flowers, animals, boats, and puppets. In recent years, he has shifted toward abstract works embellished with collage elements.
A member of Sanggar Lukis Babakan Siliwangi, Bandung, Hassan has exhibited in Bandung and Jakarta. In 2016, he was the sole Indonesian artist featured in a painting exhibition in Belgium, where his work was awarded Best Indonesian Tribal Art.
