Arkiv Vilmansa
B. 1979
Arkiv Vilmansa is a contemporary Indonesian artist known for his bold, vibrant works that merge street art, pop culture, and childhood nostalgia. A graduate of Parahyangan University, he launched his art career with a solo exhibition in Jakarta in 2010.
Vilmansa gained international recognition through his art toys series, followed by prints and paintings. His distinctive style incorporates references from cartoons, comics, and contemporary symbols, all rendered with striking bright colors and organic shapes. He is renowned for applying his visual characteristics across various media and actively engages in collaborations with national and international brands, notably being the first Southeast Asian artist to collaborate with BAPE (Bathing Ape), Japan.
Based in Bandung, Indonesia, Arkiv is currently exploring the intersection of paint and painting mediums through a new series inspired by marine biosphere and marine life. His works have been exhibited globally, including Mae Gallery in Tokyo, the Young Art Taipei Group Show in Taiwan, and Vivi Yip ArtRoom in Jakarta.
