    B. 1978

    Born in Bandung in 1978, Arin Dwihartanto studied painting at the Bandung Institute of Technology (2001) and earned an MFA from Central Saint Martins, London (2005). He explores painting through innovative techniques, drawing on comic books, science fiction, and Japanese manga to create abstract works driven by dynamic gestures and layered pigments.

    Since his first solo exhibition at Koong Gallery, Jakarta (2000), he has held shows in London, the Netherlands, and Jakarta, and joined group exhibitions such as the Bandung Biennale (2001), the Asian International Art Exhibition in Manila (2005), and Marcel Duchamp in Southeast Asia in Singapore (2012). He also has received several awards, such as the finalist of Indofood Art Awards (2002).
