Ibnu Nurwanto, an alumnus of the Institut Kesenian Jakarta, has been a dynamic presence in the art world since 1974, showcasing his talent as both a painter and an accomplished sculptor. He held his inaugural solo exhibition in 1988 at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in Jakarta. Nurwantos commitment to his craft is evident in his extensive exhibition history, with numerous solo shows at prominent Jakarta venues.
These include multiple solo exhibitions of his sculptures at Galeri Cipta II, Pusat Kesenian Jakarta, Taman Ismail Marzuki (in 1999, 2004, 2006, and 2008), as well as solo sculpture exhibitions at Santi Galeri (2000) and Galeri 678 (2002), both in Kemang, South Jakarta. His diverse artistic output was further highlighted in 2012 with his tenth solo exhibition, featuring both sculptures and paintings, again at Pusat Kesenian Jakarta, Taman Ismail Jakarta.
