Sudjadijono "Jack"
B. 1952
Sudjadijono, familiarly known as “Jack,” was born in Yogyakarta in the 1950s into a family of artist. His father was both a canvas and puppet painter. He briefly studied at the Fine Arts School (SSRI) Yogyakarta in the early 1970s before choosing a military career, eventually serving as a high-ranking officer in the Indonesian Air Force. Despite this path, his early passion for art never left him, and he developed a unique visual language that connects military ideology with his personal philosophy of life. Puppets became his primary subject, a bridge between tradition and identity, and he has exhibited his works in Yogyakarta, Jakarta, and other Indonesian cities.
