Arkiv Vilmansa
B. 1979
Arkiv Vilmansa is a contemporary Indonesian artist who creates bold, vibrant works that merge street art, pop culture, and childhood nostalgia. A graduate of Parahyangan University, he began his career with a solo exhibition in Jakarta in 2010.
He quickly gained international recognition with his “art toys” series and expanded into prints and paintings. Drawing on cartoons, comics, and contemporary symbols, Arkiv renders his subjects in bright colours and organic shapes. He applies this distinctive style across multiple media and actively collaborates with both national and international brands, becoming the first Southeast Asian artist to work with Japan’s BAPE (A Bathing Ape).
Based in Bandung, he continues to explore the intersection of paint and painting mediums through a new series inspired by the marine biosphere and marine life. His works have traveled widely around the world.
