I Gusti Ngurah Udiantara, or known as Tantin, was raised in a family deeply rooted in traditional sculptural arts. His formal art education began at the High School of Fine Arts (SMSR) in Bali, and after graduating in 1996, he continued his studies at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta. During his years at ISI, Tantin refined his technical skills, deepened his artistic understanding, and began shaping a distinct visual identity.
Since his college years, Tantin has been actively involved in the contemporary art scene. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, both group and solo, across Indonesia and abroad, reflecting early recognition of his work and his consistent dedication to artistic practice.
His recent exhibitions include “Unfolding Infinity” at Primo Marella Gallery, Italy (2025); “Distrik Seni x Sarinah: Berkelanjutan” in Jakarta (2022); “Upwind Downtempo” at Gajah Gallery, Yogyakarta (2021); “Abstract vs Optical” at Primo Marella Gallery, Milan (2020); “Artjog: Resilience” at Jogja National Museum (2020); “Yogya Annual Art: Incumbent” at Sangkring Art Space (2019); and “Artjog: Enlightenment” at Jogja National Museum (2018).
