I Nyoman Daging
B. 1940
I Nyoman Daging is a traditional Balinese painter whose works draw deeply from the history of wayang and Indonesian puppetry. A pupil of Tjokorda Oka Gambir, who also taught I Gusti Ketut Kobot, Daging is regarded as one of the last painters to continue this lineage.
He is known for his depictions of tradition and the world of wayang, and has exhibited internationally, including at the Singer Museum Concert Hall in Laren, Netherlands (1975) with the support of Rudolf Bonnet, and at Bentara Budaya in 1995.
