Cao Dali
Cao Dali is a Chinese painter whose artistic journey spans China, Indonesia, and the United States. He moved to Indonesia with his family in 1940 and later studied at the National Art School, where he also began teaching. In 1956, he returned to China to continue his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing under Wu Zuoren, graduating from the Oil Painting Department in 1961.
Cao Dali held his first solo exhibition in Beijing in 1982. In 1987, he relocated to the United States, dividing his time between Los Angeles and Beijing. His works have been exhibited internationally, including at the Shanghai Art Museum in 2008 and the Inside-Out Art Museum in 2017, which showcased his artistic practice from 1972 to 1982.
