I Wayan Legianta is a contemporary Balinese artist born in Gianyar. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta. His practice reflects the dialogue between Balinese artistic traditions and contemporary visual culture. Through painting, Legianta explores themes of identity, memory, and social experience, combining strong visual narratives with a distinctive contemporary sensibility. His involvement with Sanggar Dewata Indonesia, one of Indonesia's most influential Balinese artist collectives, has played an important role in shaping his artistic development.

Since the mid-2000s, Legianta has participated in numerous exhibitions across Indonesia, including The Dream (The Power of Dream) at the Jogja National Museum, SDI NOW at Tony Raka Gallery, Academic Art Award #2 at Jogja Gallery, Reinventing Bali at Sangkkring Art Space, Bali Art Now: Hybridity in Yogyakarta, and Celebrating the Differences in Jakarta. Alongside his painting practice, he has also been active in performance art, reflecting his interest in expanding artistic expression across different media.
