David Armi Putra was born in Batusangkar, West Sumatra in 1984. He studied at SMSR/SMK Negeri 4 Padang before continuing his education at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta. Throughout his career, he has actively participated in various exhibitions across Indonesia.
Some of his exhibitions are: “Homage 2 Homesite” at the Jogja National Museum (2006); “Artvertising” and “Imagined Affandi” at the National Gallery of Indonesia (2007); “Shout Out” at FKY 2007 in Yogyakarta; “A Beautiful Word” at V-Art Gallery, Yogyakarta (2008); “Manifesto Nasional” in Jakarta (2008); and “Jogja Art Fair #1” in Yogyakarta. His works often reflect contemporary visual culture and demonstrate his ongoing engagement with the vibrant Yogyakarta art scene.
