Xu Xiaoyan
Xu Xiaoyan is a Chinese painter known for her poetic depictions of nature. She graduated from the Art Department of Hebei Normal University in 1982 and has since participated in numerous important exhibitions, including the Chinese Oil Painting Biennale (1993), the Exhibition of Chinese Women Artists (1995), and the Centennial Exhibition of Women Artists at the National Art Museum of China.
Xu’s works focus on natural landscapes, exploring themes of seasonal cycles, transformation, and the continuity of life. Her paintings reflect a contemplative view of nature, emphasizing the relationship between all living things and their eventual return to the earth. She has received several awards, including the Gold Award at the Annual Exhibition of Chinese Oil Painting (1995) and the Freeman Foundation Award in the United States (1999).
