Dr. R.A. Ambara Baratawidjaja, born on May 29, 1960, is of royal lineage from Java’s Majapahit Kingdom and a medical doctor by profession. Her artistic journey began at eight when she placed 4th in a global children’s art competition in the U.S. She later trained in batik, ceramics, oil painting, and Chinese brush painting under masters such as Professor Chaw I Chow, Chong Cheng Chuan, and Lu Shan Yun in various countries.

In 2012, she resumed her artistic dialogue in Bangkok, further refining her style. Her first major exhibition was at the Montecarmelo Cultural Centre in Chile, Indonesia’s main contribution to Chile’s Bicentennial of Independence. Married to Diego Velasco-von Pilgrimm, a Chilean diplomat, she has lived in various countries, such as Indonesia, Singapore, Kenya, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Chile, and Australia.
