Auction Highlights
Affandi

Affandi
Sunflower, 1978
Oil on canvas: 155 x 140 cm
Signed and dated, lower left: A.1978
One of Indonesia’s most well-known modern artists, Affandi painted with unfiltered emotion and daring energy. In “Sunflower”, he lets loose a whirlwind of yellow, green, and blue. The sunflowers don’t just sit. Instead, they twist, stretch, and pulse with life under a dramatic sky, crowned by his signature blue sun. It’s wild, vivid, and unmistakably Affandi.
Lee Man Fong

Lee Man Fong
Seated Balinese Maiden
Oil on board: 102 x 50 cm
Signed and stamped in Chinese character, lower left
In “Seated Balinese Maiden”, Lee Man Fong creates a portrait that feels both intimate and timeless. A young woman, poised and calm, rests against a soft backdrop of bare branches. Her bold red headdress and flowing green skirt breathe life into the composition. With every line and wash of color, Lee channels the rhythm and warmth of Balinese life. Born in China and based in Jakarta, his East-meets-West style and prestigious role as Sukarno’s palace artist shaped a unique visual legacy.
Sunaryo

Sunaryo
Tri Hita Karana, 2019
Acrylic, charcoal and gold leafs on canvas: 200 x 400 cm
Signed and dated, lower right: Sunaryo’19
A visionary rooted in Bandung, Sunaryo brings ritual and philosophy into motion in “Tri Hita Karana”. This work, inspired by Balinese teachings on harmony—with people, nature, and spirit—shows a community immersed in ceremony. Rich reds meet calming blues, while light and movement swirl through every detail. It’s a painting that pulses with reverence and energy.

A pioneer in merging Islamic calligraphy with modern art, Pirous speaks through color and sacred text. “To Him, We Surrender” is a spiritual powerhouse.
